AI for CMOs
What should my marketing team learn before using more AI?

Train the decisions behind the buttons
A team that cannot judge a brief will generate poor work faster. Practice defining the audience, purpose, approved facts and expected output before introducing a new tool.
Use a three-session exercise
- Briefing: turn a vague request into an explicit task with boundaries.
- Review: check a draft containing planted factual and brand errors.
- Measurement: compare total completion time and quality across two approaches.
Make the test realistic
Use an expired offer, inconsistent product information and an unclear approval owner. Ask participants to flag the issue rather than solve it with confident language.

Assess useful behavior
Can the person identify a missing source? Explain a rejected claim? Escalate an exception? Those are more meaningful skills than remembering a prompt formula.
Protect learning time
Assign a reviewer, use approved sample material and keep practice out of live customer channels. Do not use an informal exercise as a basis for employment decisions.
This week's action
Choose one recurring task and write a review rubric with the people doing it. Use that rubric in training and in the pilot, so expectations remain consistent.
Discussion behind the question
This is original practical guidance prompted by a public discussion theme, not a claim that the poster represents all CMOs. Read the source discussion.
