AI for CMOs
Which marketing tasks can we automate safely?
SimplSolutions editorial team · Team & process · 10/6/2026

Classify the action
Generating an internal draft is different from publishing an offer, spending media budget or sending customer messages. Decide what happens if the output is wrong before choosing the level of automation.
Draw the workflow
Approved source -> draft -> checks -> named reviewer -> publication. Add a path for missing facts, failed integrations and conflicting instructions. A workflow diagram without exception paths is incomplete.
Set boundaries
- Approved inputs and permitted data.
- Actions the system may perform.
- Actions requiring a person.
- Error notifications and retry limits.
- A way to pause or reverse the process.

Test a failure on purpose
Remove a required field or supply an expired offer in a non-production test. Verify that the workflow stops and notifies the right owner instead of sending plausible but incorrect content.
Keep a record
Store the source version, draft, review decision and final action where your team can inspect them. Access and retention should follow your agreed policy.
This week's action
Automate preparation of one internal draft. Keep publication manual until you have evidence that the checks and exception handling work.
Discussion behind the question
